Vatican newspaper calls Trump's "shithole" comment offensive

Botswana summoned the United States ambassador to the country to "clarify if Botswana is regarded as a "s***hole" country", according to a foreign ministry statement calling Trump's comments "irresponsible, reprehensible and racist".

The statement, issued late Friday after the African ambassadors held an emergency meeting, comes amid an global outcry over Trump reportedly saying he'd rather have more immigrants from Norway and fewer from Haiti and "shithole countries" in Africa.

Mr Trump has denied using that language, but others present said that he did.

Even though Trump has denied making the particular comment, members of Congress who attended the meeting say that the reports are true.

As an immigration status allowed by law for certain countries experiencing dire conditions, such as a natural disaster, epidemic or war, tps protects individuals from deportation and authorizes them to work in the U.S.

He said Mr Trump used the most vulgar term "more than once".

"While expressing our shock, dismay and outrage, the African Union strongly believes that there is a huge misunderstanding of the African continent and its people by the current administration", the statement said.

Whoa. I've never seen a statement like this by African countries directed at the United States.

Mia Love, a congresswoman from Utah who is of Haitian descent, called Trump's reported comments "unkind" and "divisive", and demanded an apology.

Suspect arrested in Blaze Bernstein's homicide investigation
Investigators also said they would not release details on the condition of Bernstein's body or what may have occurred at the park. He agreed to be further interviewed at the sheriff's headquarters in Santa Ana, where his story "stayed fairly consistent".

El Salvador's foreign minister said a formal protest had been made over the comments attributed to Trump.

Mr Trump's insults - along with his rejection of the bipartisan immigration deal drafted by six senators - also threatened to further complicate efforts to extend protections for hundreds of thousands of young immigrants, many of whom were brought to the USA as children and remain there illegally.

African Union ambassadors to the United Nations demanded an apology from US President Donald Trump for his racist remark on the people of Africa.

However offensive he is to his own people, when Donald Trump speaks, he speaks for the United States of America, whether Americans like it or not.

Akufo-Addo's predecessor, John Dramani Mahama, also criticized Trump's comments in a tweet Saturday. "Great opportunity missed. Too bad!"

This is not the first time Trump has sought to blame Democrats for the thorny debate over the immigration program, tweeting earlier this month that they were "doing nothing". They said, prior to the physical, that mental health testing was not something Trump would undergo. "I've not read one of them that's inaccurate". Dick Durbin (Ill.), who was at the meeting, said he "personally heard" the "hate-filled, vile, and racist" comments. I could tell you about my parents, how they came to this country with so many other Haitians, how they embraced the American dream and thrived, how I and so many first-generation Haitian-Americans are products of our parents' American dreams. "Who knew lived in such a puritanical society!"

"But this was not the language I used", he added, apparently referencing the report of him saying "s--hole".

Mr Trump spoke during an Oval Office meeting on the eve of the anniversary of the 2010 quake, one of the deadliest disasters in modern history.

"Unless it was specifically said about South Sudan, we have nothing to say", South Sudan government spokesman Ateny Wek Ateny told the AP.
