Throughout statements by the prosecution about how the illegal alien killed Davis and Oliver, Bracamontes interrupted with insults at the dead sheriff's officers' partner and another man who was wounded in the shoot-out that began in a Motel 6 parking lot. Bracamontes (pronounced Braa-kamont-eez) was described by a defense-appointed psychiatrist during an examination into his mental fitness to stand trial as suffering from a delusional disorder characterized by "grandiose" and "bizarre" thoughts.

Luis Bracamontes is charged with murdering Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff's Detective Mike Davis, Jr. during a crime spree that also included carjacking and other shooting victims in October of 2014.

This photo released by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department shows Deputy Danny Oliver who was one of two law enforcement officers shot and killed in two Northern California counties, Friday, Oct. 24, 2014. Bracamontes' own attorney admitted that his client did it, telling the jury, "He shot them both", preferring to focus on mitigating evidence that could help Bracamontes avoid the death penalty, according to the Sacramento Bee.

'You will not disrupt this trial, you will not speak out, ' Judge White told him.

The preliminary courtroom appearances of Bracamontes, 36, formerly of Salt Lake City, have been dramatically punctuated by outbursts by the accused.

His attorney, Jeffrey Barbour, is not trying to prove Bracamontes' innocence. "The only thing that I f-ing regret is that I f-ing killed just two".

"Forgive me God", Bracamontes wrote in a suicide note.

The suspect, Luis Enrique Monroy Bracamontes, who immigrated to the United States illegally, appeared in court heavily shackled. Please take me with you. He will get the death penalty or life in prison if the jury convicts him.

He is also accused of shooting a driver in the head to steal his vehicle and wounding another deputy. Only jurors hearing Bracamontes' case were in court at the time of his comments.
