The doctor said that he did not originally plan on doing a cognitive assessment as he has seen the president and interacted with him nearly every day and did not see a need for it; however, the President requested that a cognitive assessment be included in the examination of his health.

Jackson said that he spoke with Trump about why the president may have audibly slurred his words during a speech on December 6 and asked an ear, nose and throat specialist to look into it.
Jackson initially had "no intention" of including such a test in the USA president's first annual physical checkup since it's not part of the routine procedure.
"We checked everything out and everything was normal", he said.
