Fredo has reportedly passed away aged just 27

The Chicago rapper passed away aged just 27, with initial reports suggesting he died from kidney failure.

Santana, whose real name is Derrick Coleman, was reportedly discovered dead on the floor at his home around 11:30 his girlfriend, family members told TMZ.

Fredo Santana has become one of Chicago, Illinois' emerging voices. Last October, Fredo went to the emergency room after suffering from kidney and liver failure, a possible result of his lean usage, and shared the experience with fans on social media. The rapper has also talked openly about having an addiction to lean, which may have contributed to his health issues.

'I am getting back to normal, sorry to all of my fans turbo bandana will not be dropping tomorrow due to my health problems.

He was active in his city's 2010s movement and also worked with Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Migos, Juelz Santana, and his cousin Chief Keef throughout his seven-plus-year career. "Stop saying Fredo was my friend", he tweeted. "Love you dude for ever", Keef said in the caption, "It was good to be able to hug you".

However, critics warn that doing so would only continue to infantilize the younger generations. This showed an increase of nearly eight years since 1973.

Santana released his first mixtape, It's a Scary Site, in 2012.

The late rapper, born Derrick Coleman, and Chief Keef came up in Chicago's hip-hop scene in the early 2010s and released almost 10 mixtapes.

Santana is survived by his infant son, Legend.
