WEF president to Trump: 'You exclusively succeed if others do too'

"President Trump looks forward to having a bilateral meeting with U.K. Prime Minister May in Davos next week to further strengthen the U.S. -U.K. special relationship", White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement, saying more details would be released next week.

President Donald Trump's participation at the Forum could be thrown into question now that the federal government has partially shut down over budget wrangling, the White House said.

Asked if he had any indication that Trump's trip was in flux, Schwab said: "No, we haven't".

Trump will be making his maiden appearance at the event as U.S. president and is scheduled to meet French president Emmanuel Macron.
