Marc-Andre Fleury has emotional return to Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Vegas Golden Knights - 2/6/18 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Marc-Andre Fleury back in Pittsburgh, but this time as a Golden Knight

Two beloved Pittsburgh sports figures brought down the house at PPG Paints Arena Tuesday night.

With the Penguins able to protect only one goaltender in the expansion draft, Fleury waived his no-trade clause and was taken by the Golden Knights.

Reilly Smith paced the Golden Knights with a pair of goals with Ryan Carpenter and Alex Tuch also lighting the lamp.

Then, during the game, the Penguins paid tribute to the goaltender with an excellent tribute video. Philipp Grubauer absorbed the loss for Washington with 27 saves.

Fleury, who won three Stanley Cups with the Penguins - including the last two seasons - returned to Pittsburgh for the first time since Vegas selected him in the expansion draft last summer. Pittsburgh had won four in a row before cooling off for a night in a 3-1 defeat at the New Jersey Devils where Evegni Malkin scored the lone goal in the third. Ryan Reaves, Ian Cole, and Jake Guentzel scored goals for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second period. He's having a great year for the Golden Knights with a.939 save percentage in 21 appearances entering Tuesday's game. The Golden Knights defeated the Penguins 2-1. James Neal scored in the second-period for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Knicks send Hernangomez to Hornets
Willy Hernangomez has spent a vast majority of the 2017-18 regular season riding the pine and asking for playing time. Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports first reported the Knicks and Hornets were finalizing a deal for the 23-year-old.

There are no trends to lean on here but I'll take a small shot at the over for an interest...

"It was my home for so long", Fleury said.

Fleury played against - and beat - his former teammates in December in Las Vegas, but he said that doesn't compare. He'll receive his 2017 Stanley Cup championship ring at the Knights' morning skate from Penguins team president Mario Lemieux.

Fleury, the No. 1 pick in the 2003 National Hockey League draft, spent 13 seasons in Pittsburgh and set team records for games and minutes played, wins and shutouts.

"We knew it was going to happen", Murray said. Late in the game when Vegas had an extra attacker on the ice, Colin Miller tripped up Brian Dumoulin and was called for a penalty. Will Carrier is out with an upper-body injury and that means Brendan Leipsic is back in.
