UFC 221 goes down Saturday (Sunday locally), live from the Perth Arena in Perth, Australia.

Yoel Romero missed weight for his UFC middleweight title clash against Luke Rockhold at UFC 221 and is therefore not eligible for the belt.

Romero (12-2) could not make the 185-pound limit at Saturday's weigh-in.

Rockhold was originally scheduled to challenge for Robert Whittaker's undisputed middleweight crown However, several medical issues forced Whittaker off the card, forcing UFC officials to book Rockhold against Romero instead.

However, despite the two hour allotment to get his weight down, Romero was unable to hit the mark. He holds wins over the likes of Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, former UFC champion Frank Mir, Roy Nelson and most recently Derrick Lewis during his career. And in the co-main event, No. 10-ranked heavyweight and fan favorite Mark Hunt (13-11-1 MMA, 8-5-1 UFC) meets No. 14 Curtis Blaydes (9-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC). The No.9 ranked American showed 243. On the scales the Australian heavyweight was 263.55.

Jussier Formiga was over weight for his flyweight battle against Ben Nguyen featured on the preliminary card. At 188.3lbs, he was likewise given the two-hour allowance to make weight. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
