Union minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, MP and filmstar Hema Malini, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu would be star campaigners for the party in Tripura, the BJP general secretary said.
With just one week left before the Tripura legislative assembly polls, BJP President Amit Shah has responded to an allegation that the BJP-led government's attitude in providing funds to the northeast state of India is "lukewarm".
As a part of its election strategy, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to challenge the might of the Manik Sarkar government in the state which is in power since 1998. Despite that, seven lakh youths are jobless in Tripura as registered with the government.

Among the promises made was that Special Economic Zones would be set up in Tripura. Shah said a BJP government would protect and promote the cultural heritage and values of tribals.

He said that minimum wages will also be revised to Rs 340.
The BJP is fighting in 51 seats, while its grouping partner Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) has fielded contestants in nine seats.
