Epic Games"Fortnite continues to grow at an alarming rate and the developers are getting ready to scale appropriately

Fortnite's free-to-play Battle Royale mode has surged in popularity over the past few weeks, recently hitting a new record of 3.4 million concurrent users. The team also admitted that the version 2.3.0 was released with significant bugs. Unfortunately, the influx of players has also resulted in a number of server issues across PS4, Xbox One, and PC, which developer Epic has addressed in a new post on its website. We don't consider either acceptable.

No matter which way you look at it, one thing remains clear: the competition between Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in the Battle Royale-inspired multiplayer shooter genre is escalating. Epic Games said that players' feedback is being listened to, but more information on the topic hasn't been released.

According to the update on the site, the developers state that the network code is getting closer to the point where Fortnite will be running at a solid 20hz serverside from the beginning to the end of the match so that there's a solid gameplay experience from when players log into the game's lobby all the way to when they complete a match.

Big changes are heading to Fortnite, including 60 frames-per-second (FPS) on console.

The timed event will introduce a special Valentine's Day quest entitled A Love Story as well as themed skins for Fortnite Battle Royale as well as the new Cupid's crossbow weapon.
