It's been almost four decades since the United States Men's Hockey team captured gold at the Olympic Games.

Jocelyn Lamoureux-Davidson's record breaking performance helped Team USA defeat the Olympic Athletes from Russian Federation, 5-0.

The 1980 "Miracle on Ice" team, that shocked the Soviet Union and the rest of the world, featured legendary coach Herb Brooks and a group of college hockey unknowns including Badgers' Mark Johnson and Bob Suter.

PyeongChang play-by-play announcer John Walton echoed Stauber's message.

"So I thought our team played well tonight". They don't like each other.

Both teams have already clinched spots in the semifinal round, which begins Monday, Feb. 19.

The U.S. was drawn into Group B, along with the Russian team, Slovenia and Slovakia.

Canada looked every bit the part of a favorite.
