Sox, Martinez agree to 5-year deal

The addition of J.D. Martinez indeed gives Boston one of the more impressive lineups in the league. According to reports, the two sides have reached a deal on a five-year contract worth $110 million.

Bryce Harper is entering his walk year and it is widely expected that the Scott Boras client will, indeed, test out free agency next fall rather than engage in any substantial way with the Washington Nationals about a contract extension.

Despite battling an injury, Martinez slashed.303/.376/.690 with 45 home runs and 104 RBIs in just 119 games last season. Back in July of 2017, the struggling Tigers traded Martinez to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Red Sox roster looks nearly identical to last year's, but John Henry asserts plenty of changes have been made this offseason. Only the Braves, Pirates and Giants had fewer round trippers than Boston last season.

Gennett hit.295 previous year and set career bests with 27 homers and 97 RBIs in his first season with the Reds.

But so many people came to watch and I know many more watched on TV. "That support really helped push me to win the gold medal". The Korean team started the match strongly as they scored three points in the first and third ends. "It's a great honour".

The Boston Red Sox have made a decision to add a powerful bat after hitting an American League-low 168 home runs last season. The home run below is Chavis' third of the game, and a walk-off blast.

In 80 games from May 12 through the end of the 2017 season, Núñez batted.337 (114-for-338) with an.883 OPS. The Red Sox only hit 168 home runs as a team a year ago, which ranked 27th in the league. Sock, the highest-ranked American at No. 8, is attempting to become the first player to win consecutive titles at Delray since the tournament moved from Coral Springs, Fla., in 1999.

Martinez figures to be Boston's primary DH in 2018. He was one of Baltimore's top pitchers the previous five years, going 65-33 with a 3.81 earned run average in 143 starts. Though it won't be easy with the Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians and archrival New York Yankees, all locked and loaded for the upcoming season, the Red Sox can feel reassured that they can compete for a World Series championship. Martinez won't get the money he wanted, but getting $50 million over two seasons with the option to return to the open market is a good deal for him.
