Mets GM Sandy Alderson Predicts Tim Tebow 'Will Play in the Major Leagues'

In fact, Alderson believes Tebow is going to play in the major leagues [VIDEO]one day and the Mets want to get him there as quickly as possible. Alderson said the Mets liked his durability (180 innings in 32 starts). "So I'm not even going to worry about it".

But while stops short of calling Tebow's foray into baseball as a publicity stunt, he does hold firm in his belief it will not be Tebow's talent alone that would get him to Citi Field in NY. Alderson said the club eyed Vargas, an All-Star with Kansas City last season who also tied for the major league lead with 18 wins, from the start.

He'll get the quickest route to the major leagues because that's ultimately where they think he belongs.

"This experiment, if you will, is not going to last forever, but he's made meaningful progress".

Tebow spent 2017 between the St. Lucie Mets of the Class A Advanced Florida State League and the Columbia Fireflies of the Class A South Atlantic League. "It's hard to fully make changes in a season when you're competing one night, you work on it the next day and you compete the next night".

Chance for India to seal limited-overs leg with T20I series win
Yuzvendra Chahal took some stick, but finally managed to dismiss Behardien and got the breakthrough India were looking for. Batting first, India set a handsome total of 203 for the hosts to chased and that turned out to be too much for them.

Makes sense. The alternative would be for Harper to give the same canned "I'm only focused on our next game" responses in front of his locker 150 times this summer, and that doesn't serve anyone. Our outfield work, my training session, getting to know all the new coaches and working as hard as I can.

The decision to invite the 30-year-old Tebow to spring training for a second consecutive year seemed like enough of a stretch to most people. The quarterback won the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore in the 2007-08 season and played on two national championship teams.

The September call-ups appear to be Tebow's best bet to play with the Mets, as at that point in the year rosters expand from 25 to 40 players.

Having specifics to work on during the offseason has been a huge advantage, Tebow said. "And when you have a chance to love what you do and you're passionate about it, it's fun. You watch the way teams go about their business". For me, it's being able to lock in and have tunnel vision regardless of what team I'm on.
