President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday received the FIFA World Cup Trophy ahead of the 2018 World cup tournament in Russian Federation.

President Buhari will have a feel of the trophy and deliver a welcome remark, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Dalung and other members of the Federal Executive Council will view the trophy.

According to him, football has been a great unifying factor among the ethnic groups in the country.

This is the fourth Global Tour by the FIFA World Cup Trophy, and the third time it will be visiting Nigeria.

President Buhari commended Coca Cola for investing part of its resources in the development of football in Nigeria and urged other organisations to emulate the company.

"We are proud of you and the team to the Bobsleigh Winter Olympics in South Korea, " he said.

The trophy was transported from Uganda to Nigeria where it is scheduled to tour two cities, Abuja and Lagos.

Suri also announced that Coca-Cola would soon unveil a promotion in which Nigerians will win all-expense-paid trip to the World Cup finals in Russian Federation, with Managing Director of Nigeria Bottling Company, Georgios Polymenakos insisting Nigerians deserve this as a result of their incredible passion for the game.
