Golden State Warriors suffered a setback in the game against San Antonio Spurs after its point guard Stephen Curry suffered an ankle injury during the match Thursday.

They may play two completely different sports across the Atlantic but Stephen Curry sees a lot of similarities between himself and Lionel Messi.

Golden State came out of halftime firing on all cylinders, but they continued to trade baskets with the Spurs for much of the third quarter.

"I felt good shooting the midrange as always", Durant said.

The Warriors are already shorthanded against San Antonio. San Antonio led by eight points with just 4 minutes, 44 seconds left to play after a Dejounte Murray dunk on a fast break.

From there on out, it was the KD show.

According to ESPN Stats & Information research, the Spurs have been outscored by 31 points in clutch time (defined as the final five minutes with a game within five points) since February 1, which ranks as second-worst in the National Basketball Association in that time.

Durant finished with a game-high 37 points, Draymond Green tallied a triple-double and the Dubs' seventh-straight win became official when a potential game-tying 3-pointer rimmed out as time expired. At the end of the game, Bryn Forbes had an open three to tie, but it landed just short.

Despite the loss, Kyle Anderson had a standout performance with 20 points and six rebounds. The Spurs routinely fed the ball to Aldridge down low, where he made light work of any Golden State defender for most of the ballgame.

The Spurs' average margin of victory in their last five games has been 1.2, down from 2.9 for the season.

Golden State is 51-14, now in second in the Western Conference behind the Houston Rockets.

If the Spurs are able to get Aldridge, Leonard and Gasol all healthy and game-ready before the postseason, San Antonio could be a dark horse threat to the two top dogs in the Western Conference.

Including last year's sweep in the postseason, the Warriors are 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against San Antonio per the OddsShark NBA Database.
