The deal includes $55 million in guaranteed money and will keep Evans, 24, under contract until 2023.

"I'm excited to announce I will be spending the next several seasons in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers with one goal in mind: winning a Super Bowl with my teammates", he said on his Instagram account. The team previously exercised his fifth-year option for 2018, but he would've become a free agent next offseason.

Evans had one year remaining on his entry-level contract but is now secured by the Buccaneers throughout his prime, with the former first-round pick emerging as one of the elite playmakers in the National Football League and the prime target for young quarterback Jameis Winston.

In other action, former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard crashed out, losing 6-3, 6-4 to Sachia Vickery of the United States. The win offers the former world No.4 Stosur the chance to re-enter the top 40, where she has only spent one week since August.

In Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals, Fitzpatrick completed 68 percent of his passes, throwing for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Evans follows in the footsteps of Gerald McCoy and Lavonte David as highly successful Buccaneer draft picks who earned a second long-term deal with the franchise. The team may have similar tasks in the years to come with the likes of Jameis Winston, Ali Marpet, Donovan Smith, Kwon Alexander and others. His receptions and yardage totals increased each of the next two years, to 74 for 1,206 in 2015 and 96 for 1,231 in 2016.

Evans had 71 catches for 1,001 yards and five TDs in 2017, when the Bucs finished 5-11 and missed the playoffs for the 10th straight season.
