Marvel Chief: 'We absolutely' Will Make 'Black Panther' Sequel

Audiences also loved the film, giving it the second ever A+ CinemaScore for a Marvel film after The Avengers.

Although data hasn't been gathered nationwide (or confirmed), it does make sense that a movie about a fierce black cat would inspire animal lovers to want to have a fierce black cat of their own. Marvel, we'll be waiting for the premiere date!

After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T'Challa returnsohome to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader.

When asked about his plans for a sequel, Feige said there was "nothing specific to reveal", but that "we absolutely will do that".

For years, the Holy Grail (or at least a Holy Grail; we're nerds, we can have multiple grails) of Marvel movie fandom was the notion that Sony Pictures would hand the rights to Spider-Man back over to Marvel Studios so that Peter Parker could finally stand alongside Tony Stark on the big screen. This strong showing is enough to give Black Panther one of Marvel's biggest opening days in the history of China's box office.

He says when creating the first film, they came up with where the story could go in the follow-up film: "We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one".

Even the most casual of metal fans would recognize that this is the same font as the most famous of Pantera logos. If you look at how other character arcs have been, it tends to look like three standalone movies for one hero, plus a few appearances in other team-ups and movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Or a Shuri stand-alone film?

No matter how exciting that sounds, there is a certain method to the Marvel madness. "These are the ones that are keeping us busy". So we'll just have to be patient.
