The 49ers' top receivers remain Garçon, Goodwin and Trent Taylor in the slot.

"I'm really blessed and fortunate because it could have all ended after Buffalo", Goodwin said.

During a conference call with reporters on Thursday, Goodwin said he knew he would find success playing under head coach Kyle Shanahan when he made the decision to join the 49ers past year. He played all 16 games, caught 56 passes and gained 962 receiving yards - more than either Woods or Watkins gained in 2017.

Goodwin's season ended on a scary note when he sustained his second concussion of the season and at least the fourth of his National Football League career on a helmet-to-helmet hit that left him momentarily unconscious in the season finale against the Rams. Goodwin joins center Daniel Kilgore and tackle Garry Gilliam as offensive players whose contracts the 49ers have extended in recent weeks.

"My goal is to stay healthy and win games", he said.

Goodwin replaced Pierre Garcon after he sustained a season-ending injury eight games into the season.

Donald Trump: 'We're Not Backing Down' on Tariffs
Navarro said Monday on "Fox &Friends" 'if we get a great NAFTA agreement. that would be a great thing for the American people'. The president added he is right now "100 percent" following through with his plan to impose the new controversial tariffs .

Last year, his elite skills were on full display after quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo entered the starting lineup.

Goodwin was one of the first free agents signed by 49ers general manager John Lynch, who's going into his second year as GM, and Lynch is clearly a fan of the 27-year-old.

Goodwin was asked if he feels head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense brings the best out of him. "I knew Kyle would put me in a position to be successful". "Or I could have been in a worse situation and not had this year to have a solid season". Everybody gets to shine. It's not a one-man wrecking crew. It's not a one-man wrecking crew, not one guy making it happen. "It gives me an opportunity to be out there and to make plays and that's what you would want in a scheme and in a system".

Goodwin went through the NFL's concussion protocol once previously in 2017 but had been evaluated for a concussion four other times when he was with the Bills.

After being used ineffectively in Buffalo, Goodwin believes the decision to sign with the 49ers may have saved his career. "But I think the people in the stands were more scared than I was, I guess from how it looked and me being unconscious for a few seconds".
