National Basketball Association roundup: Timberwolves go to Towns in 109-103 win vs. Warriors

The Golden State Warriors were again missing more than just two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry on Sunday, with reserves Andre Iguodala, Jordan Bell and David West all out for the game at Minnesota.

Towns finished with a team-high 31 points to complement a game-high 16 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who were playing a sixth consecutive game without injured Jimmy Butler. Draymond Green added 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, but he had trouble defending Towns down low.

Donovan Mitchell scored 27 points, including 15 during the last 3:08 of the third quarter to put Utah in front for good in what could be an important victory in a packed race for one of the Western Conference's final five playoff spots.

Zaza Pachulia chipped in with 16 points and 11 rebounds off the bench for the Warriors, who won the season series 2-1 over the Timberwolves despite the loss.

Golden State are trying to avoid losing back-to-back games for just the second time this season and the fourth time since the start of the 2015/16 season.

Notes:: West was scheduled for examination by a dermatologist on Sunday, coach Steve Kerr said, before the next assessment about his return could be made.
