The Mississippi State men's basketball team will get to host basketball in the Hump this postseason.
The Huskies and Boise State have faced off nine times, with UW having an 8-1 advantage. Rider has one of the longest travel distances (nearly 3,000 miles) of any team that qualified for a postseason tournament.
"We've been clear all along we're going to wait until the season wraps up, and then we'll talk about it", Tyra said Monday. "I'm very proud of the hard work they've put in to get to this point and to be rewarded by extending our season is a great chance to keep getting better". Enough so that they earned a 10-seed in the NCAA Tournament. When Marquette was more of a sure bet to make the tournament in 2016-'17, players celebrated with fans in the Union Sports Annex, a campus sports bar where tourney-bound Marquette teams tend to hold viewing parties. Three of those six losses were decided by fewer than eight points.
PSU (0-9 overall, 0-5 in the Big Sky) got wins at Nos. However, also like Mississippi State, Nebraska struggled away from their home court. That year, the Bears won the championship, defeating Iowa in the title game. Season ticket holders were able to start purchasing their tickets, for the now sold out game at 9 a.m. Monday.
The NIT semifinals will be at New York's Madison Square Garden on March 27.
For Nebraska, ultimately, it appeared to be less about the quantity of wins and more about the quality.
