Amazon giving monthly free games to Twitch Prime users

Twitch Prime adding more free games with monthly subscription

Now Twitch seems to be getting in on the action for Twitch Prime users. For Australians access to Twitch Prime is free for any Amazon Prime subscriber - you'll just need to link your accounts.

The selections for future months of Free Games With Prime have not been announced yet. All five of these games will be available to Prime members until March 31.

The company will begin distributing free games to subscribers from 15 March, with first batch including Superhot and Oxenfree.

For those who have been paying to Twitch's Indie Amplifier contest over the past month, most of these games will be familiar. What they all have in common is the routine delivery of surprise free games for a relatively low monthly price.

All eight games from the Indie Amplifier will eventually be given away through the program, and all free games will be yours to keep, even if you cancel your Twitch Prime subscription. Ever since it arrived it launched in 2016, subscribers were privy to free games every so often.

Considering that Amazon acquired Twitch, it wasn't surprising to see Amazon leverage the streaming platform and fold it into its Prime program with Twitch Prime, a "premium experience" that is included with every Prime or Prime Video membership.

And be sure to come back in April because our next Free Games with Prime. The blog post doesn't make clear whether users get to keep the goodies they have received once they stop paying for their subscription, as is with the case with those other services.
