Report: Marcus Smart Out Indefinitely With A Torn Tendon In His Right Thumb

The Celtics may have caught a break with Kyrie Irving's left knee soreness, which is believed to be no more than tendonitis and will not require much time off, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Smart and the Celtics weren't sure if the injury would require surgery as of Monday, and are hoping for some good news from the second opinion - whenever Smart may get that.

Smart was seen wearing a protective cast on his shooting hand after the 99-97 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Smart's chances of returning this season don't seem high though, as The Boston Herald's Mark Murphy reported Tuesday, citing league sources, that the Celtics "just don't know" if the guard will be able to return. Not only is Kyrie Irving nursing a sore knee, but Jaylen Brown is in the concussion protocol, while Daniel Theis will have season ending knee surgery.

The party has nominated senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi from West Bengal. "This might split the votes of Congress MLAs". Three nominated members - actor Rekha, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and social worker Anu Aga - will also retire then.

Theis and Smart were both hurt in Sunday's game, with Smart's injury occurring when he dove to the floor.

The Boston Celtics had a number of injuries dumped on them Monday, and the latest could be the worst.

Al Horford, who missed the IN game because of an illness, was listed as questionable.

In his first season with Boston, Irving leads the team with 24.8 points and 5.1 assists per game.
