In Lok Sabha, the members from the Congress, the Trinamool and some other opposition parties protested against the banking fraud committed by Nirav Modi and his associates, while the TDP and the YSR Congress demonstrated for special status to Andhra Pradesh. Opposition parties protested the move since the session is to continue till April 6.

The AIADMK meanwhile, has demanded a board for the management of the Cauvery river water. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan applied guillotine to get the Finance Bill passed and approve outstanding grants of demand for various departments with voice vote.

Kurien then adjourned the House for the day.

Party strategists are understood to be waiting for the outcome of a meeting of senior opposition leaders called Tuesday by Congress' Sonia Gandhi before making their stand clear.

These will now go to the Rajya Sabha where the Opposition is in majority. They will remain intact as per the Central government rules.

He, however, indicated that the government is rushing with the passage of the Union Budget in the next two days even if the pandemonium persists.
