Kelley To Collaborate For 'The Undoing'

Nicole Kidman and David E. Kelley Are Bringing Their Limited Mystery Series The Undoing to HBO

The network has ordered The Undoing, an adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz's book You Should Have Known, with Kidman attached to star. Nicole Kidman and David E. Kelley will be re-uniting for The Undoing, Kidman is serving as an executive producer for the project. "I'm excited and honored to continue collaborating with HBO and David E Kelley". But her life is rocked by a series of tragedies: a violent death, the disappearance of her husband and "a chain of awful revelations" about the man she thought she knew. As she starts to search for him, she uncovers that she didn't really know the man she thought she did. Further, Kelly will serve as the executive producer, writer, and showrunner for the project.

Whilst Kelley added: "I loved this book. A character-driven psychological thriller, I'm excited about the adaptation and thrilled to be able to do it with Nicole and HBO", Kelley said in a statement.

Kidman and Kelley both won Emmys for "Big Little Lies" a year ago - she for acting and producing, he for producing - as part of the series' eight-trophy haul.

Nicole's new role will see her play Grace Sachs, a happy wife and mother who's on the brink of publishing her first novel. The Undoing represents a reunion for most of the creative team behind HBO awards darling Big Little Lies. Blossom's titles now in development include an adaptation of the literary sleeper hit The Silent Wife, an adaptation of best-seller Reconstructing Amelia, an adaptation of Janice Lee's best-seller The Expatriates, and an adaptation of off-Broadway vampire hit Cuddles. Kidman also appeared in HBO's Hemingway and Gellhorn alongside Clive Owen in 2012, garnering her Emmy®, SAG and Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal as Martha Gellhorn.

In the mean time, fans can look forward to seeing Kidman reprise the role of Celeste on Little Lies when it returns for Season 2.
