Zach Coleman #5 of the Long Island Blackbirds and Devonnte Holland #15 of the Radford Highlanders battle for the ball during the second half of the First Four game in the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at UD Arena on March 13, 2018 in Dayton, Ohio.

Unfortunately, the Blackbirds' defense is as porous as its offense is potent-they are No. 284 in the country and second-to-last in the Northeast Conference in points allowed per game.

It will be the first-ever meeting between Radford and Villanova.

"It's a blessing to be able to play with these guys and be a part, make history with these, with my fellow teammates and coaching staff, so it's an wonderful feeling right now", said Jones, who made the buzzer beater to seal the win over Liberty in the Big South Tournament Championship.

Here are the game details for tonight's First Four match-up and the official beginning of the 2018 NCAA Tournament and March Madness. The win was Radford's first NCAA Tournament game in the history of the school.

Carlik Jones had a substantial and loud cheering section at University of Dayton Arena, a lot of folks traveling about an hour up Interstate 75 from his Cincinnati hometown to see him play for Radford in a First Four game. By then the lead was nine with less than two minutes to go, and Radford could begin to celebrate making school history.

BOTTOM LINE: Northeast Conference Tournament victor LIU-Brooklyn makes its first appearance in the tournament in five years.

Jashaun Agosto scored 16 points and Raiquan Clark added 14 for LIU Brooklyn, which is winless in seven trips to the tournament.

STREAKERS: Radford has won its last seven games. After a first-round win over Lafayette, the Wildcats fell to No. 9 seed North Carolina State, 71-68, in the second round.

TOP SCORERS: LIU-Brooklyn has four starters in double figures, led by Joel Hernandez (20.8 points per game). Radford seemed to me to be the superior team led by big-men Ed Polite Jr. and Randy Phillips.
