Another source said the attackers invaded the village in a commando style and perfected their dastardly acts within few minutes.
The gunmen attacked the village said to be in the boundary community between Plateau and Kaduna states. Gen. Texas Chukwu, who said that two soldiers were also wounded, while seven suspects were arrested, and a number of weapons recovered from them.
A fresh attack by armed men, suspected to be herdsmen, has killed at least 25 people in Plateau State.
"As troops moved in to settle the dispute, the herdsmen opened fire on them".
The villages attacked were Dundu and Hirshi, both in Bassa Local Government Area. 2 other soldiers wounded are receiving medical attention at 3 Division Military Hospital and Medical Services.
Security agencies in the affected local government area have been mandated to enforce the curfew, while law abiding citizens are advised to go about their lawful business.

The violence was believed to be reprisals for Monday's attack on Irigwe farmers that killed 25.
