2014-2017 Ford Fusions assembled at the Flat Rock assembly plant between August 6, 2013 and February 29, 2016. The recall also affects the Hermosillo Assembly Plant in Mexico where 2014-2018 Fusions and Lincoln MKZs were assembled from July 25, 2013 to March 5, 2018. Gradually loosening steering wheel bolts could eventually cause steering wheels to detach from the steering wheel column.

Of the total recall of 14 lalkh cars, 13 lakh affected cars are in the USA while the rest are in Canada and Mexico. In this case the reason for the recall is a potential clutch plate fracture, which could cause a fire.
