For those unaware, the Nest Hello is Google's smart doorbell offering, and joins the ever-growing smart home market alongside other similar products like the Ring Doorbell and August Doorbell. The light lets you know where to ring the bell. It works seamlessly with all of your other nest products.
Nest's Home/Away Assist feature will automatically lock your door once it detects you're not home, and if you use the Nest Secure home security system, the Nest x Yale lock will automatically disarm this once it's unlocked.
"The Nest x Yale Lock is key-free and tamper-proof". They're also bringing the connections with each device working in concert with the rest - Nest top to bottom. Or if you forget to lock the door yourself, the app can do the job for you.
For anyone who is interested, the Nest Hello is available now for $229. Create custom passcodes for people you trust and decide when they work, so not everyone can get into your home at all hours. With Nest Hello, users can see who's at the door and allow them in the door with the Nest x Yale lock.
Ryan Giggs explains Aaron Ramsey's omission from Wales squad for China Cup
Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward is also not a member of the 26-man squad, but Giggs said the situation was no fault of his. It's the ideal time in the global break to get it done.
You'll get an alert on your phone whenever someone locks and unlocks the door. You can also link up your Google Home to the Nest Hello, so when someone rings the doorbell your Google Home will pipe up and say "Someone's at your door".
You can finally ask Google Home to arm your Nest Secure, which was one of our gripes when we reviewed it. So Nest Hello sends you an alert when someone's there, even if they don't ring. This works in combination with the Nest thermostat to monitor and control the temperature in a specific room. You can then schedule your home's heating to ensure that, for example, a cold upstairs bedroom is guaranteed to be warm when you want to go to bed later in the evening. It's available to pre-order for either $49 CAD per sensor or $125 per three pack.
The Nest Hello, Nest x Yale Lock, and Nest Temperature Sensor are all live on Nest's site. The sensor needs to be set up with one of the latest generation Nest thermostats (Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E)-older versions will not be supported by the device.
