A reboot of this classic Nickelodeon TV show is in the works

Melissa Joan Hart to star in Clarissa Explains It All reboot... but this time she will play the mother

Clarissa Explains It All Reboot: Melissa John Hart in Talks to Return

A few years back, Melissa Joan Hart was telling anyone who would listen that her two shows, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL were both returning. Hart would also executive produce through Hartbreak Films, which she runs with her mother, producer Paula Hart.

Hart, now 41, is reportedly in talks to executive produce and star in the show - this time with Clarissa as a mother.

Negotiations with Hart and Kriegman are still not done as the project is in early development, THR reported.

Nickelodeon has declined to comment. Along with Hart, the cast included Jason Zimbler, Sean O'Neal, Elizabeth Hess and Joe O'Connor.

After Clarissa, Hart went on to star in ABC's Sabrina, The Teenage Witch - and said in February that Clarissa would be prime to be rebooted, just as Netflix is doing it own dark take on Sabrina.

He also accused Kejriwal of hatching a conspiracy to mislead people by playing the emotional card of apology. Kejriwal is facing defamation cases in court for levelling allegations against Jaitley and Gadkari.

The series was Nickelodeon's first featuring a female lead. It is credited with being Nickelodeon's first show with a series lead, and led to the creation of other female-led popular series like The Secret World of Alex Mac (which they should definitely reboot) and The Amanda Show.

She said: "I think Clarissa ended on a note that could be explored again". "I think it sounds more Buffy the Vampire Slayer than it does Sabrina, so I think it will appeal to a different kind of audience and be a totally different show". Kriegman published a novel about Clarissa's life as a twenty-something, Things I Can't Explain, in 2015. I think Sabrina ended on a really great note, and I don't think you want to go back and explore that.

Nickelodeon recently announced a revival of Blue's Clues, too, a show for much younger children about an animated dog and her owner.

Reboots remain in high demand as broadcast, cable and streaming outlets look for proven IP in a bid to cut through a cluttered landscape expected to top 520 scripted originals this year.

Hart and Kriegman are repped by APA.
