Kejriwal and Khetan apologised for their allegations on Thursday.
"I m resigning as a president of AAP Punjab ..."
According to Majithia's counsel Damanbir Sobti, the case was at the last stage now.
Senior AAP leaders, including Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Sukhpal Khaira and editor-turned-MLA Kanwar Sandhu have slammed Kejriwal's decision to surrender as a bid to wriggle out of the defamation suit filed against him by Majithia, a former minister in the state government.
On the same light, Kejriwal's apology also comes as an embarrassment for the party leaders who, toeing his line, earlier endorsed the same allegations and reaped political mileage out of them.
Mr. Sidhu also said Mr. Kejriwal's apology was no clean chit to Mr. Majithia. Addressing a press conference here, BJP Delhi unit President Manoj Tiwari said: " What we have been saying for long has been proved today. "He has apologised to Majithia for making false allegations against him".
Kejriwal is facing defamation cases in court for levelling allegations against Jaitley and Gadkari.
Tiwari, who represents the northeast Delhi constituency in the Lok Sabha, accused Kejriwal of misleading the people over the ongoing sealing drive in the national capital.
Spy poisoning: Putin most likely behind attack, says Britain
Russian Federation has demanded access to the case and opened its own investigation into the attempted murders yesterday. Britain has expelled 23 Russian diplomats and suspended high-level contacts with Moscow due to the incident.
The reactions from AAP leaders and cadres were nearly instantaneous with Sukhpal Singh Khaira, leader of opposition in the Punjab assembly, proposing to set up a separate platform.
He said that though Lt Governor Anil Baijal cleared the file for notifying 351 roads in the capital on February 8, the matter is still pending.
He also accused Kejriwal of hatching a conspiracy to mislead people by playing the emotional card of apology.
As many as 20 MLAs including two legislators of Lok Insaf Party on Friday held a meeting here to decide on the next course of action in the wake of Kejriwal's apology. "We can not be associated with a party whose main leader meekly surrendered by tendering apology to former minister Bikram Singh Majithia", LIP leader and MLA Simarjeet Singh Bains said in Chandigarh on Friday. Nobody was consulted before he took this decision.
Majority of AAP MLAs too, except those owing allegiance to Delhi leadership, are seriously contemplating to break-away and form another faction, as per approved under anti-defection law, under Khaira's leadership.
"I had left my home seat of Mohali where I had got maximum votes in MP elections and fought against Bikram Majithia against all odds on being asked by Arvind Kejriwal because Punjab was suffering from drug problem".
