Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Saturday dismissed AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal's apology to Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia as an antic that not only reflected the Delhi Chief Minister's political inexperience but also appeared to be a desperate attempt to reduce the burden of defamation cases against him before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Before splitting up the leader of opposition in the state assembly Sukhpal Singh Khaira along with LIP leaders released a "chargesheet" against Amarinder Singh lead Congress government.

On BJP's assertion that Delhi government owes money to the corporation (NDMC), AAP leaders outrightly rejected this and said the civic body has requested for a loan so that they can pay two months salary of its employees.

On LIP breaking ties with the AAP, Sandhu said, "They too are upset with Kejriwal's decision and said they can not support him anymore, but they have assured their continued support to the state unit to raise the issues concerning people of Punjab". "We can not be associated with a party whose main leader meekly surrendered by tendering apology to former minister Bikram Singh Majithia", LIP leader and MLA Simarjit Singh Bains said here today.

Punjab chief Bhagwant Mann resigned from the top post on Friday, a day after party convenor Arvind Kejriwal apologised to a former state minister for alleging his involvement in the drug trade.

He has also made it clear to Kejriwal that the Punjab unit will not allow unnecessary interference into the state party affairs by the central leadership. "Therefore we ended alliance with AAP", he said.

Referring to the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, his home state, he said within one year the party had lost both the mandate and the goodwill of the people.

Tiwari, who represents the northeast Delhi constituency in the Lok Sabha, accused Kejriwal of misleading the people over the ongoing sealing drive in the national capital.

Arora also called Kejriwal's apology painful. Nobody was consulted before he took this decision.

Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu accused Kejriwal of "murdering" the AAP in Punjab by his apology, while Union Minister and BJP leader Vijay Sampla said the Delhi CM can go to any extent to "grab power". AAP had made the allegations of drug peddling on Majithia as the focus of its campaign in last year's Punjab polls.
