The chief creative officer of Archie Comics, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, will serve as writer and executive producer. The 22-year-old actor will return to his comedic roots for Status Update, which stars fellow Disney Channel alumni Olivia Holt (Kickin' It, I Didn't Do It) and Gregg Sulkin (Wizards of Waverly Place).
