Michael Cohen tries to block use of documents seized by Federal Bureau of Investigation

Lawyers for Trump's Personal Attorney Set for Friday Court Appearance

Michael Cohen seeks restraining order on items seized by feds

The investigation is separate from the special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe.

In the filing with a court in NY, prosecutors blacked out a section describing what laws they believe Cohen has broken, but they said the "crimes being investigated involve acts of concealment" and suspected fraud.

On Friday, McClatchy reported that Mueller has evidence that Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, made a trip to Prague in the summer of 2016.

A lawyer for Cohen, Stephen M Ryan, on Monday said that United States prosecutors conducted a search that was partly a referral by the Office of the Special Counsel, Robert Mueller. Early Monday morning, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents carried out a raid on the home, offices and hotel room of the president's longtime personal counsel.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents who conducted the raids were seeking information on payments to Ms Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who also claims to have had a sexual relationship with Mr Trump, a person familiar with the matter said.

"I'm not trying to delay anything but nor do I see a particular rush", Hendon said.

Russia's Lavrov: God forbid any Libya style adventure in Syria
Russian Federation and the United States are using their channels of communications on Syria, according to the minister. However, the Observatory says the facilities were evacuated by the Syrian government days before.

Cohen has denied for months that he ever has been in Prague or colluded with Russian Federation during the campaign.

Pressed later whether Cohen was still acting as Trump's attorney, Sanders demurred.

However, the lack of a Czech stamp in Cohen's passport does not necessarily rule out the possibility that he traveled to the Czech Republic.

Cohen has not commented to ABC News about the criminal investigation. Trump said he'd not learn about the cost. Both women say they had affairs with Trump.

But "the attorney-client privilege can't at the same time be used as a sword and as a shield", McKay told Wood.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan are investigating whether any crimes were committed as part of an effort by Cohen to squelch damaging stories about Trump when Trump was a presidential candidate, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Also, there are reports Cohen has told people Trump is his only client, which if true would mean he didn't have privilege with any of his other communications or recordings either. Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, argues that the court must first decide if there even is an agreement and has asked for limited discovery, including depositions of Trump and Cohen and production of certain documents, in order to prove there is not.
