During the visit, the prime minister is scheduled to jointly host the India-Nordic Summit in Stockholm.
It may be a chilly spring in Stockholm at this time of year but Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly received by a wide section of Swedish society, from King Carl XVI Gustaf and Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, to a euphoric throng of 1,100 students and diaspora members.

Later on Tuesday, Modi will hold a bilateral summit with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven following which a number of agreements are expected to be signed. Modi had said he and Lofven would interact with top business leaders of both countries and chart out a future roadmap of cooperation in sectors such as trade and investment, science and technology, clean energy and smart cities.
Modi was the first Indian prime minister to visit the Nordic nation in last 30 years.
While returning from Britain on April 20, he will stop over in Germany where he will a meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
