At the event, Netflix also released first look pictures of Jonah Hill and Emma Stone in their upcoming black comedy Maniac, and announced that Princess Bride star Cary Elwes will be joining the cast of Stranger Things series three.
A new Netflix original comedy series from the United Kingdom will star Idris Elba. Additional casting was not announced. With this such a strong background in DJing, his comedic turn in Turn Up Charlie may even turn out to be a more comfortable fit for the actor than the sort of roles he's more famously known for.

The streaming giant has handed out a straight-to-series, eight-episode order for half-hour entry Turn Up Charlie, an original comedy created by, starring and exec produced by the Luther Emmy nominee. Production will begin this May in the United Kingdom. The series is being directed by Tristram Shapeero and Matt Lipsey.
While this new character may seem like a notable shift in tone from the roles he's played in the past, Elba actually began his career as an East London DJ prior to acting. He returned to the DJ booth previous year with sets in London and performances at New York's legendary Output venue. He was also a resident at Hi Ibiza across the summer season, performing with the Mambo Brothers.
