"I feel like I'm gonna fight a better version of Edson Barboza". Lee missed weight on Friday, weighing in one pound above the lightweight limit of 156. He landed some hard ground-and-pound and maintained top position until the end of the round. Barboza was simply unable to handle Lee's wrestling, which Lee used to set up some mean ground and pound. He continued to dominate the grappling exchanges but Barboza was able to survive the round.
Still, Barboza persevered and somehow came out refreshed in the third round when he uncorked a spinning wheel kick that connected flush on the side of Lee's head. While just 15 pounds separate lightweight (155) from welterweight (170), a disproportionate number of fighters fall in that range - and many are stuck cutting too much weight to fight at 155, or they find themselves outsized while competing at welterweight. After losing against Iaquinta in his UFC debut, Lee went on a nice four-fight run and many thought he was going to be the future lightweight champion. Lee stayed busy on top as the crowd chanted, "Stand them up!"
The Jersey boy got back on track in his home state. Lee landed a huge punch early in the fifth round that opened a cut under Barboza's eye.

Frankie Edgar was questioned for making a quick turnaround from his first career knockout loss against Brian Ortega at UFC 222, but he rebounded strongly by scoring a unanimous decision win over Cub Swanson at UFC Atlantic City.
In the case of Barboza, he's always been one of the most exciting fighters at 155lbs, someone who has shown flashes of brilliance at times with attractive knockout wins over the likes of Terry Etim and Beneil Dariush.
Barboza looks to come back stronger to avenge a one sided loss by the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov at the end of previous year final PPV at UFC 219. It was announced Saturday that Holloway is scheduled to defend his title against Ortega at UFC 226 on July 7, so Edgar will most likely be in line to face the victor.
