Yankees reportedly promote top prospect Gleyber Torres

After so much hype, after such a wait, Gleyber Torres stood in front of his locker in the Yankees' clubhouse. He hardly slept the night before after driving East from Scranton, Pa., the home of the team's Triple-A club.

Gleyber Torres, the top prospect in the organization, will be called up to the New York Yankees, according to multiple reports Saturday. The two platooning players have hit a combined.147 over 95 at-bats with no homers and seven total RBI. The 21-year-old infielder, acquired from the Cubs in a July 2016 deadline-day deal, is hitting.370 with a.415 on-base percentage, one home run and 11 RBIs in 13 games for the RailRiders.

Pippa Middleton is reportedly pregnant with first child
The Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister told close friends and family last week, reports The Sun , following her 12-week scan. It can be recalled that James' father, David , 74, was accused of sexually abusing a minor in the 1900s.

Baseball America called Torres its sixth best prospect in the game before the season while MLB.com had him at No. 5.

Voted the top player in the 2016 Arizona Fall League, Torres had been at Triple-A for a month previous year when he tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his non-throwing left arm during a headfirst slide into home plate on June 17. It's expected that Torres will see at least semi-regular action between second and third base initially, though if he struggles more than expected offensively, a demotion to Triple-A isn't out of the question. He likely would have made his Major League Baseball debut in 2017 had it not been for a torn UCL which forced him to miss the majority of that season.
