Hulu has surpassed 20 million USA subscribers and has grown total engagement on the service by more than 60 percent, the company revealed alongside a slew of upcoming programming highlights. Ramy is a comedy series based on the real-life experiences and comedy of Ramy Youssef.

Hot off an Emmy win and a Peabody Award, "The Handmaid's Tale" was picked up for a third season.

Ad-supported downloadable content is only one of Hulu's pitches to advertisers. The streaming service did not specify which shows will be available for offline viewing, nor when this feature will launch officially, beside the vague 2018 to 2019 timeframe.

This month, Hulu will begin offering dynamically-inserted advertising within its live television product, which includes sports.

Hulu also revealed that 78 percent of Hulu viewing takes place in the living room on connected televisions.

Hulu also announced it has expanded its suite of sales effectiveness tools with four new partnerships, offering attribution across the auto and retail categories working with IHS Markit for Polk Campaign Measurement Solutions and Nielsen Buyer Insights, respectively.

Meanwhile, Hulu's forthcoming ad-supported download feature will let subscribers watch TV shows and movies on mobile devices - without needing an internet connection.

Through the deal, Hulu will become the exclusive US streaming home to future theatrical releases from the studio beginning in 2019, including upcoming franchise films How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,The Boss Baby 2 and Trolls 2, in the pay one window.

With Hulu's light ad load - less than half of that on linear TV - consumers are more engaged with ads on its platform, said Hulu CMO Kelly Campbell.

Hulu also used the forum where it announced the offline news to talk about its other advertising initiative: dynamic ads that will interrupt content during live segments for its Hulu with Live TV customers.

Hulu announced on Wednesday that it had surpassed 20 million United States subscribers, and many of its subscribers have oddly impressive viewing habits.
