BlackBerry KEY2 teased ahead of June 7 announcement

BlackBerry KEY2 to be unveiled on June 7th

The company's official Twitter handle posted the invite for the launch of the device, which will be held in NY on June 7.

BlackBerry is all set to unveil the latest generation of its physical keyboard-touting KEY smartphone over a year since the launch of the KEYone. The invites for the event have been sent out.

Alain Lejeune, BlackBerry president, had confirmed in January that the company plans to launch at least two smartphones in 2018. Blackberry Mobile made this announcement on its official Twitter account by posting an image that reads "An Icon Reborn". Last month, a mysterious BlackBerry handset, codenamed "Athena", appeared in a Chinese certification site.

The BlackBerry KEY2 is expected to feature a QWERTY keyboard with gestures as well as a multitouch-supported display which is expected to come with 3:2 aspect ratio. If TENAA listings are to be believed, it revealed details of the phone including its specifications.

12 more people sickened by contaminated eggs from North Carolina farm
Additional illnesses continue to be confirmed in an outbreak of Salmonella traced to eggs from Rose Acre Farms. Inspectors found multiple violations of federal food safety regulations at the Rose Acre Farms facility.

Based on what we've heard so far, we're expecting a dual-lens camera on the back of the device, and of course a proper keyboard that you can mash your digits into.

Display: 4.5-inch 3:2 display with 433 PPI, scratch-resistant glass protection. There are speculations that KEY2 will support 4G LTE and dual-SIM support. It is expected to be powered by the operating system Android Oreo.

Meanwhile, other leaked images had suggested that the KEY2 will have a plastic build. On the top, the smartphone could have a 3.5mm audio jack, while its bottom might have a USB Type-C port.
