Showers and thunderstorms are expected in the area after 4 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Monday afternoon and evening throughout Will County, warning of "hail up to ping pong ball size" and possible flooding.

At 9:28 a.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain continuing to fall over the warned area. A flood advisory continues through Thursday for the east branch of the DuPage River in Bolingbrook, affecting Will County.

The weather service, quoting Frederick emergency management, said widespread flash flooding had already occurred in and near Frederick. Flood warnings for both rivers are in effect until further notice, the weather service said. Flood stage is 6.5 feet, which was reached and exceeded on Sunday.

At 10 a.m., Wednesday, the stage was 8.9 feet and rising.

The Kettle River above Curlew is also above flood stage and major flooding is expected. He says the D.C. area will be under a slight risk for severe weather starting in the evening hours Tuesday.
