WOW airline announces new flights from St. Louis to India

WOW air to introduce direct flights between Iceland and India in December

Wow Air expands in Asia with new Delhi route

In a bid to woo its Indian flyers, Iceland's low fare transatlantic airline Wow Air on Tuesday said it's offering its services from Delhi to multiple destinations in North America and Europe via Reykjavik from December this year.

After disrupting the aviation market in Iceland, Mogensen is bringing his low-priced carrier to India - New Delhi to begin with. The introductory fares would connect passengers from New Delhi to any of the 15 North American cities - New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, and Toronto - and London that are part of $484-million WOW's current network.

That introductory fare applies to flights between January 10, 2019 and March 31, 2019, and the airline said that fare is available for 4,200 seats on selected flights, only when booked with a return trip. "Our target customers are smart travellers - people who are value conscious", said Mogensen. Southwest operates Caribbean and Mexico flights from BWI, part of its acquisition of AirTran, and other airlines have been adding service to new global destinations.

The thrice-weekly trip to New Delhi would take upwards of 15 hours. In case you have forgotten to book this facility online, you have to fork out a staggering Rs 10,718 at check-in.

The website showed the basic fare at Rs 24,999 for a ticket on December 7 and Rs 54,499 in the premium segment, reflecting the increased demand since the announcement by the airline. You will be charged for carrying any additional baggage. And, it also offers to take you to, say, New York, in 19-22 hours from Delhi.

However, the airline CEO Mogensen said the fare could go up depending upon factors, "though the high cannot be three to five times".

But, Wow also offers different fare segments - so, for instance, if you want to go on January 6 from Delhi to NY, you could also choose the Wow Plus for Rs 36,758, including a hand baggage, a checked-in baggage and choice of a ticket included in the offer.

At the tail end of this month, the airline will also be increasing the frequency of its daily service to Newark, bringing the total number of flights to 13 per week.

"In the basic fare, we offer a seat and a small carry-on like a laptop bag".
