Ben Simmons Named Finalist For NBA Rookie Of The Year

Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons named finalists for NBA awards

The NBA has announced James Harden, LeBron James and Anthony Davis as the finalists for this year's MVP award. He was named to the All-Star team in February for the third straight season.

As a finalist for the 2018 NBA Defensive MVP, Embiid, who averaged 11 rebounds and a 3.6 Real Plus-Minus rating will be facing off against fellow defensive anchors Rudy Gobert (5.15) and Anthony Davis (3.8) for the title best defender in the league.

At 33, James would be the oldest player to win the award since 35-year-old Karl Malone did so in 1998-99. "The body of work, how I'm doing it, what's been happening with our team all year long, how we've got so many injuries and things of that nature, guys in and out, to be able to still keep this thing afloat, I definitely would vote me".

Wednesday night before tip-off of game two of the Western Conference Finals, the National Basketball Association announced the three finalists for the league's highest individual honor.
