Trump Says Report That Obama Spied on His Campaign 'Bigger than Watergate'

Donald Trump says the FBI's investigation into cooperation between Russia and his campaign could prove"bigger than Watergate

The tweet, which recalls Trump's unsubstantiated claim that Obama "wire tapped" Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential election, followed a freaky post congratulating America on being in the "second year of the greatest Witch Hunt in American History".

President Donald Trump on Thursday once again accused former President Barack Obama of performing clandestine spy operations during the 2016 presidential campaign. In a recent column, McCarthy said that Glenn Simpson, the co-founder of an intelligence firm, Fusion GPS, that compiled research on Trump during the campaign, had testified to the Senate that the F.B.I. had a "human source" within the campaign.

Trump did not provide any evidence beyond the National Review story, which questions the FBI's official account of the investigation's origins and the timing of Simpson's retraction.

"They didn't have a criminal predicate to investigate the people in the Trump campaign [that] they did and they used their counterintelligence powers as a pretext to investigate the Trump campaign in the hope of making a criminal case", he said.

Simpson has said that person was Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos, but McCarthy believes it was someone else, who the FBI planted with the campaign, not an aide who cooperated with the investigation willingly.

The government, however, has repeatedly refused to force the auto industry to undertake-and pay for-costly exhaust refits. Green Party co-leader Caroline Lucas welcomed the Commission action.

A new New York Times report stated that the investigation into the Trump campaign's ties to Russian Federation began in the summer of 2016 and was code-named Crossfire Hurricane.

"I think the investigation should be thrown out", Giuliani said.

"Congratulations America, we are now into the second year of the greatest Witch Hunt in American History...and there is still No Collusion and No Obstruction", Trump wrote.

During a Thursday (Friday NZT) interview on Fox & Friends, Giuliani, a former NY mayor, called for an end to the Mueller probe.

The president also mocked the "Haters", writing, "Despite the disgusting, illegal and unwarranted Witch Hunt, we have had the most successful first 17 month Administration in USA history - by far! Maybe a special counsel, special prosecutor, never should have been appointed".
