Mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor is in plea negotiations to resolve charges stemming from a backstage melee at a Brooklyn arena.
Returning to UFC to fight will put McGregor back on the straight and narrow after a troublesome couple of months, and the UFC president Dana White has recently revealed when he is going to be speaking to the Irishman to sort out his future once and for all.
"He and I are meeting on the 18th of this month", White told TMZ Sports.
Joining McGregor in the Brooklyn court will be friend and co-defendant Cian Cowley, who was charged with one count of assault and one count of criminal mischief.
"I don't know what Conor has planned".

General Assembly President Miroslav Lajcak declared that under United Nations rules a two-thirds vote was needed so the amendment failed.
Following the UFC 223 event, video footage emerged on social media of McGregor and his entourage storming into the Barclays Center in NY and making their presence felt.
McGregor surrendered to police the night of the attack, which seemed to be in connection with the UFC's decision to strip the Irish fighter of his title, which he's held since his last UFC fight in which he defeated Eddie Alvarez in November 2016.
An MMA journalist has released an alleged picture of McGregor's mugshot from his time in the NY jail when he was arrested.
However, as had been expected, McGregor's (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) appearance was brief and simply saw the scheduling of his next court appearance, which is now set for July 26.
