In a frankly disturbing update from the Twitterverse, today Millie Bobby Brown has deactivated her Twitter account after becoming the target of a homophobic meme, which paints her as a discriminatory bully.

Internet users have also lifted Brown's social media posts, such as Snapchat photos, and photoshopped them with homophobic and racist captions.

In one of the memes, a picture of Brown was posted above the text: "Just got this vehicle".

Addressing and dealing with toxic fans online is nothing new, but the conversation against online bullying and toxic fandom has been gaining traction since Tran's forced departure from Instagram.

Brown has shown support for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), according to People, and has been vocal about bullying.

Brown will make her big screen debut in next year's Godzilla sequel titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
