He gets props for trying, but it when it comes to the National Basketball Association offseason and the rampant speculation it produces, Irving's expectations about the number of questions he will be asked may need to be adjusted to something a little more reality-based.

"Contractually, financially, [an extension] just doesn't make any sense", Irving said, while promoting the "Uncle Drew" movie (h/t ESPN).

"I'm feeling good. It was going to be a process coming back, making sure that I'm healthy enough for September", he said.

Up to this point, there have been few clear signs regarding where LeBron James plans on signing this offseason. Obviously, it's a business at the end of the day.

"Them playing well was only beneficial for our team", he said of the Celtics in his absence.

There have been reports that Irving could leave the Celtics in 2019 free agency. I am sure the Celtics would happily give Irving a contract better than Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conely; Conely is now in the third year of his five-year, $152 million contract. But before the postseason began, Irving would be shut down indefinitely due to his knee issues. It's just a matter of whether they can keep their core in place for years to come and whether the young budding stars develop as anticipated.

And now, we're well on our way to get denuclearization... we have great chemistry, and that's a good thing, not a bad thing". South Korea and Japan have always said the drills - which infuriate North Korea - are necessary to ensure their security.

Porzingis greeted Irving's comments with praise of his own saying: "I love his game".

Plus, there's no telling what type of long-term commitment James would be willing to make with Boston, essentially putting the Celtics in a situation similar to the one they're now dealing with regarding Irving, who is set to become a free agent next summer. "We'll see what happens".

"In this business, I've experienced it all and I've seen a lot", he tactfully replied, "so we'll see what management decides".

Irving, 26, seemed most excited when talking about the future of his young Celtics teammates, the likes of Jayson Tatum and Terry Rozier, who showed what they are capable of in the playoffs, when having to run the show without Irving and Gordon Hayward. Really integrating myself with our team again and really focus on winning a championship. The Celtics need to prove that they are able to compete with any team in the league, and they have the talent to do that.

Irving is looking forward to getting back on the court after a successful first season with the Celtics (24.4 points, 5.1 assists per game) was cut short at 60 games by a knee injury that required surgery.
