Oprah Winfrey Enters Content Partnership With Apple For Original Programming

Today, Apple inked its biggest deal to date, signing up none other than Oprah Winfrey for a multi-year content partnership.

Under the deal, Winfrey and Apple will create programs that will be released as part of Apple's original content lineup. Winfrey had no immediate comment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter both Amazon and Netflix were also looking to strike deals with Ms Winfrey, but Apple managed to clinch a deal after "aggressively pursuing" the philanthropist and TV star.

Volvo’s New S60 to Get the Polestar Engineered Treatment
Volvo is making the announcement a week before unveiling the new S60 as well as inaugurating the automaker's first U.S. plant. Volvo and Polestar have teamed up to create a new high-performance version of the electrified S60 T8 plug-in hybrid.

The Apple deal falls outside of Winfrey's pact with OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, where she serves as CEO.

Winfrey recently extended her contract with OWN through 2025, so it's unclear how much time she'll devote specifically towards her Apple projects.

Other projects Apple has announced include a remake of Steven Spielberg's 1980s science fiction anthology series "Amazing Stories", based on Isaac Asimov's influential "Foundation" science fiction novels, and a drama from "La La Land" movie director Damian Chazelle.

Under her contract with OWN, Winfrey can appear on camera on other platforms on a limited basis, although it was not immediately clear whether she would be doing so as part of the Apple partnership.
