It's not every day that a camera pops up on the market that makes you do a double take, just to make sure that what you're looking at is real. Although 16 lenses may seem excessive, the camera is able to capture multiple pictures simultaneously at different depths and focal lengths.
If you think Huawei's decision to place three cameras on the back of its P20 Pro smartphone is overkill, you might be amused to hear one company is reportedly working on a handset with a whopping nine rear-facing lenses.
'Top Gun 2' casts Miles Teller as Goose's son
Skydance CEO David Ellison and Jerry Bruckheimer, producers of the original return to produce the sequel with Cruise. As reported by Variety , Miles Teller has been cast in the role of Goose's son, who is now Maverick's new protégé.
"A camera-maker called Light showed concept and working prototype phones with between five and nine lenses-yes, nine-on the back". It is developing a new, multi-lens camera system that smartphone manufacturers can adopt for super high-end photo capture. Well, you're about to get a case of phone-camera-envy anyway. Light will reportedly release a version of the multilens phone later this year. Companies are chomping at the bit to make their cameras more reliable, work better in low light, and add features that people want. With a smartphone, which has around nine camera sensors, the software will have to stitch all these images together to form that one high-resolution image. The L16 camera also has other features, such as portrait mode effects and 5x optical zoom.
The Light smartphone will be announced later in 2018, the Post reports, but don't expect it to come cheap given that the Light L16 is a $1,950 point-and-shoot camera. The goal of the second lens for these smartphones is to help with zooming and to measure the depth of field, giving users the ability to create blurred backgrounds during the shot.
