Ousted Fox News executive Bill Shine officially joins Trump administration as senior communications official

Then-Fox News co-president Bill Shine leaves a New York restaurant last April

President Donald Trump named former Fox News executive Bill Shine to a top White House communications job on Thursday, 14 months after he left the network amid charges he failed take effective steps to deal with sexual misconduct at the channel.

"He brings over two decades of television programming, communications, and management experience to the role", the president said of Shine in a statement.

Shine left Fox News in May of 2017 amid sexual harassment scandals revolving around the network's pundit Bill O'Reilly and its Chairman Roger Ailes.

"Mr. Shine will serve as Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications".

Trump himself has been accused of sexual harassment and improper behavior by more than a dozen women, accusations that he denies.

The communications arm is now in Supreme Court nominee mode, with White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders saying last week that Raj Shah is taking leave from his role as Principal Deputy Press Secretary to work on the SCOTUS nomination full time.

Rohit Sharma is batting on 67 off just 36 balls. "Ben's obviously a fantastic player, and there will be a hard decision to make". However, Alex Hales led from the front in the second contest to help England keep the series alive.

Media members have flocked to social media to decry Trump's decision to give a role in his administration to Bill Shine.

Mr. Shine had been in talks with President Trump about a job since the spring, even playing golf with the president and Sean Hannity, the Fox News host and one of Mr. Shine's close friends.

The National Women's Law Center criticized the appointment.

HuffPost reported on Thursday that Shine's wife, Darla Shine, frequently attempted to discredit sexual harassment accusers at Fox News on Twitter. "Life. works in mysterious ways", Carlson tweeted.

Bill Shine departs after a meeting with Donald Trump, the then-US President-elect, at Trump Tower in the Manhattan borough of New York, US, November 21, 2016.

Shine is married to Darla Shine, a former Fox News TV producer.
