UFC president Dana White said afterwards that a fight between Cormier and Lesnar will happen. This marked Lesnar's return to MMA after an nearly five-year retirement. Lesnar is now contracted with the WWE, but his contract runs out in August.

"As soon as he came to my seat he was acting like a lunatic", White said.

Saturday's fight was exciting from the start.

Cormier, on the other hand, enters the superfight having just defeated arguably the greatest heavyweight in UFC history in Miocic.

Cormier became the second fighter in UFC history to hold two championship belts simultaneously. After the victory, the new heavyweight champion was doing an interview with Joe Rogan before he took the microphone and called out Brock Lesnar.

Cormier has never lost to anyone except Jon Jones, the star-crossed former light heavyweight champion who beat him twice.

"Maybe we're living in my world now, so I dictate the rules", Cormier said with a grin. "But everybody's strong. Push me now, you go to sleep later". That's like the Stone Age. "But, Brock Lesnar get your [expletive] in here".

The two squared off for a moment before Lesnar shoved Cormier in the chest and stated, "DC, I'm coming for you, m--f--".

After finding himself on the wrong end of Hall's rangy jab for much of the opening round, Costa walked down his opponent in the second and unleashed a vicious combination, landing a left hook to the chin, then a powerful right to the body, to finish Hall mid-way through the second round. "They were both into it. DC pushed me up against the cage. Everyone in there was insane". "I spent all camp knocking out my training partners, and today I got to do it in the octagon". He reddened Miocic's face with punches, and the finishing sequence was reminiscent of combinations he threw the last time he fought at heavyweight, in 2013.

"Now there's a guy who I've known for a long time", he began. The bout was changed to a no contest after Lesnar was suspended for one-year by the Nevada Athletic Commission. The WWE put up a story on its website about Lesnar being spotted at UFC 226. In order to fight again, he'll have to re-enter the USADA testing pool, and serve the final six-ish months of his suspension.

"Him and Vince have a good relationship", White said.

"No, the process has been going on all week".

If the suspension is five months, Lesnar could be back as soon as UFC 232 on December 29 in Las Vegas, but if the suspension is six months, his return would have to wait until 2019. Cormier vs. Lesnar is on, saying "We're definitely going to make that fight".
