# 04:30 PM: PM Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in listen to Mahatma Gandhi's favourite bhajans, sung by classical singer Vidya Shah at Gandhi Smriti in Delhi.

Moon's visit comes at a time of changes in the geopolitical landscape of North-East Asia that began with a summit meet between Moon and the reclusive North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in April and then the meeting between Kim and US President Donald Trump last month.

At the launch PM Modi said, "India has 40 crore smartphones and around 32 crore people use broadband". "I often state that in India there is hardly a middle-class home where you won't find a product manufactured in South Korea", he said.

"Our Noida factory, the world's largest mobile factory, is a symbol of Samsung's strong commitment to India, and a shining example of the success of the Government's "Make in India" program", Samsung India CEO HC Hong said in a release tied to the news. The plant started with the manufacture of televisions way back in 1997, and mobile phone manufacturing unit was added in 2005.

The Noida factory, which was set up in 1996, is one of the first global electronics manufacturing facilities set up in India. "I hope smartphones produced by this plant are exported to more countries, strengthening cooperation between other countries", Moon said.

Previous year in June, Samsung has announced a massive Rs 4,915 crore investment to expand the Noida plant.

The all-rounder was hit for 22 runs in his first over by Roy but he showed good composure to bounce back in his next three. India lost two early wickets in the chase but a stand between Rohit and captain Virat Kohli steadied the ship for the side.

India's smartphone market grew 14 per cent with total shipments of 124 million units past year, the fastest pace of growth among the world's top 20 markets, according to technology research firm IDC.

The new Samsung factory will have the capacity to fabricate 120 million smartphones per year, and make everything from low-end smartphones that cost under $100 to the company's flagship S9 model, according to the company.

Besides the smartphone, consumer electronics like refrigerators and flat panel televisions will also be manufactured at Noida plant.

Earlier in the day, for the inauguration of a Samsung facility, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in took a Metro ride to Noida.

The South Korean President was accompanied by senior members of his cabinet, officials as well as industry captains.
